Dresses to Wear to a Wedding

Dresses to Wear to a Wedding

It’s wedding season, and nothing is worse than trying on a million dresses without finding one you feel best in. There are many factors when it comes to a wedding, like a vendor, wedding colors, and the dress code. You don’t want to show up in a dress too close to the bridesmaids or in something that leaves you feeling underdressed. We’ve got three categories to help you narrow it down.

Shape of the Dress: The shape of the dress can change the vibe of your outfit. If you’re going for a more sophisticated look you’d want something more form fitted or structured. If you want something more relaxed an aline or shift dress will help you achieve that. If you don’t know what style you want, you can never go wrong with an empire waist, it’s timeless and so flattering. Now if you really want to be trendy, a drop waist style is what you want.

Material of the Dress: For a fancier wedding you have to pay attention to the material of your dress. You want something textured, chiffon, swiss dot, or even silk. Even if the dress is plain, a higher-end fabric will help you pull off that black tie look. However, if you want something for a more laid-back wedding a linen material always pulls off that effortless look.

Pattern of the Dress: Of course, we can’t forget about the pattern of the dress. A floral dress with bold colors and big flowers might not be the best choice for an elegant black-tie wedding. But a whimsical or garden party style of wedding would be perfect. Or a vintage floral dress at a rustic-style wedding? Perfect.

At My Sister’s Closet, we pride ourselves on carrying the best array of dresses. We have all different silhouettes and styles to make sure you never leave the house second-guessing your outfit, especially when heading out to a wedding.
