Transition Your Wardrobe from Summer to Fall

Transition Your Wardrobe from Summer to Fall

Love it or hate it, schools back in session, it will eventually start to get cold (even if it is only in the mornings and late in the evenings) and it’s time to start transitioning your wardrobe from summer to fall. We’re brining you pieces to incorporate and styling ideas to help the transition be that much easier.

Transition Outfits
  1. Keep your favorite summer shorts and swap your summer top for a sweater vest. You’ll still be cool in the summer heat, but the chunky knit of the sweater vest adds a touch of warmth and texture. Finish the outfit with clogs, or closed toe shoe to seal in the fall look.
  2. Summer dress + a lightweight sweater. The looser knit, the better, we want the sweater to be an open weave and relaxed fit to create this stunning look. Take your favorite summer, floral dress and pair a lightweight sweater on top. Give it a cropped look by adding a belt or bra to tuck it up into.
  3. Another summer dress look, don’t give up your summer dresses just yet. Another way to transition a summer dress is by adding a denim shacket. The denim material adds a fall look while the long sleeve adds that layer of warmth.
  4. Add a button-down to your outfit. Take the jean shorts and a white tank top outfit you wore all summer, now add a white button down to it. Leave it unbuttoned and flowy for a summer-to fall transition that can’t be beat.

Transition Pieces

You’re going to want all of these pieces in the fall anyways, but get them early to help with the wonky weather transition. You’ll get more use out of them, since you can start wearing them now, during the fall and winter months and again as we transition to spring.

  1. Ditch the sandals and opt for a loafer or mule type of shoe. The chunky loafer trend was huge last year and it seems to be sticking around again this year. These shoes paired with a summer dress add that touch of fall.
  2. Relaxed, straight-leg denim jeans. Yes, the 90s’ style of jeans are back. Get them in a mid-denim wash that will seamlessly transition through all the seasons, not just this one. Keep it with a white tank-top while the weather permits.
  3. White Oversized Button-Down, this top will carry you since there are so many different ways to style it. This is one of the most versatile pieces that’ll you’ll have in your closet, we promise you won’t regret it.
  4. Faux Leather Jackets, it’s an old classic that’s making its way back. For the transition months pair it with sleeveless dresses, tank tops and shorts, floral dresses, you’ll find yourself reaching for this more times than you might think.
